Baking Bandits is a true merger of two of my life's passions, baking and teaching. I have been baking since I was old enough to hold a spoon in a mixing bowl. My fondest memories growing up are spending time baking with my Mom. As I grew up, it became our 'thing' to do; our time to bond and create together. It has since become a tradition in my own home, with my two boys.

My life as an educator began, reflecting back 30 or so years ago, when I received a chalk board as a Christmas present. I 'taught' all my stuffed animals everything I knew!

These experiences early in life have led me down a path of working as an educator. I have worked in the fields of adult and children's literacy for more than seven years. I have coordinated and created adult and children's literacy programs. I am certified in Storytelling in the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program. Recently, over the last two years, I have been working with children in the public school system.

One of my fondest memories working at one school was creating a baking/cooking club for children that were struggling with academics and behaviour. During our time together, while working as a team and participating in hands-on learning, these children had a chance to shine - they would grin from ear to ear! Their confidence in the kitchen grew along with their self-confidence.

This collection of life experiences has led to the creation of Baking Bandits, where both of my worlds come together to create some wonderful memories, tasty treats and some great learning experiences for anyone at any age!
